Al Rayyan: Lekhwiya will enter the quarter-final phase of their AFC Champions League campaign without the services of striker Sebastian Suria who has signed a deal with Al Rayyan SC.
The Qatar News Agency and Al Rayyan’s offical Twitter account have reported that the 32-year-old, a naturalised Qatari of Uruguayan descent, has signed for Al Rayyan who were promoted to Qatar's top-flight last season.
A player for Lekhwiya since 2012, Suria helped Qatar's reigning champions advance to this season's AFC Champions League quarter-finals by scoring a goal in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie against fellow Qatari side Al Sadd. In total, he scored 42 goals in 64 appearances in all competitions for Lekhwiya.
The striker has also scored 29 times in 101 appearances for the Qatari national team.
Lekhwiya will travel to Saudi Arabia to play Al Hilal in the first leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-finals on August 25 before hosting the return fixture on September 15.
