Jinan: Two goals apiece from Walter Montillo and Diego Tardelli helped AFC Champions League quarter-finalists Shandong Luneng secure a vital 4-0 win over Shijiazhuang Ever Bright which saw them leapfrog their opponents and move out of the Chinese Super League drop zone.
After failing to break the deadlock during a goalless first half, Shandong, who recently announced the big name signings of Graziano Pelle and Papiss Cisse, went ahead in the 50th minute courtesy of a Walter Montillo effort.
The Argentine import then doubled his tally and Shandong’s advantage with a penalty 17 minutes later, before Tardelli (pictured) bagged his first of the game in the 83rd minute.
Brazil international Tardelli duly rounded off the game with Shandong’s fourth on the stroke of full-time to lift Felix Magath’s charges to 14th in the table
Shandong will play Korea Republic's side FC Seoul away in the first leg of their AFC Champions League quarter-finals on August 24 before the return fixture on September 14.
