A prolific goalscorer since moving to the UAE in 2012, the 28-year-old Senegalese forward has already notched 17 goals – including a hat-trick against Al Ahli - in 20 appearances this season. Diop’s arrival at the Al Rashid Stadium is sure to provide a major boost to an Al Ahli side currently busy defending their domestic title while preparing to embark on a seventh AFC Champions League campaign. For the 2017 edition of Asia’s premier club competition, Al Ahli - beaten finalists in 2015 - have been drawn in Group A alongside Uzbekistan’s Lokomotiv, Al Taawoun from Saudi Arabia and a yet to be determined Play-off winner.
