Doha: JSW Bengaluru coach Albert Roca has been quick to praise the performance of his players after they were beaten 1-0 by Iraq's Air Force Club in Saturday's AFC Cup final showdown
Hammadi Ahmed, the competition’s Top Scorer and Most Valuable Player, netted in the 70th minute from close range to break Bengaluru hearts and ensure Air Force Club became the first side from Iraq to win the prestigious trophy.
“I want to say congratulations to Air Force Club,” said the Spaniard. “I think they were superior and they deserved their win.
“From the very first moment we could see that we were not as comfortable on the ball and Air Force were playing at a level that we perhaps cannot achieve for now. This was another kind of football that we have never experienced before.
