China PR revel in the rain
Bangkok: A rain delay didn't dampen China PR's spirits as they registered a 2-0 win over Thailand in an international friendly at the Rajamangala National Stadium on Saturday.
Having taken a 1-0 lead into the half-time break, China PR had to endure a 30-minute wait for the second half to start as a heavy downpour made the pitch unplayable.
Shanghai SIPG midfielder Wu Lei gave Marcello Lippi's team the lead in the 34th minute off an assist by Xiao Zhi.
China PR had enjoyed the better of the exchanges as the teams headed into the break and the rain delay had no effect on their momentum when the match finally restarted 45 minutes after the first half had ended.
