Red-hot Wu Lei leads China PR training squad
Beijing: Shanghai SIPG's Wu Lei will spearhead a 27-strong China PR training squad for the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019.
Wu Lei was named the 2018 Chinese Super League (CSL) Player of the Year after emerging topscorer as Shanghai SIPG won the title for the first time.
The 27-year-old scored 27 goals to become the first local player to win the topscorer award since 2007. The attacker has 12 goals to his name in 57 appearances for China PR.
Head coach Marcello Lippi also included goalkeeper Yan Junling and full-back Shi Ke from Shanghai SIPG.

Guangzhou Evergrande, dethroned this season as CSL champions after a seven-year reign, saw seven players named in the training squad which will report for training on Saturday.
The Guangzhou players selected were the long serving Zheng Zhi (pictured below), Zeng Cheng, Zhang Linyi, Li Xuepeng, Feng Wei, Yu Hanchao and Yu Lin.
Beijing Guaon and Shandong Luneng, whose Chinese FA Cup final is finely poised after a 1-1 draw in the first leg, have six and three players each in the training squad.
Lippi, however, will have to decide on a final squad of 23 before China embark on their AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 campaign where they will take on Korea Republic, Kyrgyz Republic and Philippines in Group C.
