Kuala Lumpur: Omar Khrbin has been named the Toyota Player of the Week after the forward netted a hat-trick in Al Hilal’s 4-0 victory over IR Iran’s Persepolis in the first leg of the AFC Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old opened the scoring with a header just after the half hour mark before scoring twice more in the second half to complete his treble and help his side gain a four-goal cushion ahead of the return fixture in Muscat next month.

Khrbin put on a finishing clinic scoring his three goals from three shots on target and also completed his 20 passes with a 90 percent accuracy rating to earn himself a score of 9.4, as Al Hilal stretched their unbeaten run on the continent to 11 games.

Khrbin’s teammates occupy the next three places on the Toyota Player of the Week ranking with Salem Al Dawsari, Abdullah Al Mayouf and Yasir Al Shahrani all given 9.1 ratings.

Midfielder Al Dawsari was particularly impressive as he tallied two assists and created four chances. He also went close to scoring himself with five shots, of which two were on target, and made 62 passes.

Al Hilal’s cleansheet was just as important as the four goals they netted and thus goalkeeper Al Mayouf is next on the list after he completed five saves on the night.

Al Mayouf also touched the ball 33 times and made 20 passes, although the key stat will be: goals conceded equals zero, and thus Al Hilal are now with one foot in the AFC Champions League final.

Flying full-back Yasir Al Sharani is the fourth consecutive player on our list from the Saudi giants and his goal five minutes before half-time was key in seeing Al Hilal go into half-time with momentum. The defender also created two chances and had 88 touches.

We move to the East to complete this week’s top five with Shanghai SIPG midfielder Oscar who scored a 8.7 rating. The former Chelsea star chalked up an assist, created three chances and had 75 touches as his side drew 1-1 with Urawa Red Diamonds in Shanghai.

Oscar’s teammate Hulk is next with a 7.7 rating after he scored his team’s opener with a characteristic long range strike, while a fifth Al Hilal player is next with full-back Abdullah Al Hafith earning a 7.6 rating.

Urawa goalkeeper Shusaku Nishikawa, completes the top eight after making a semi-final high of seven saves, giving him a 7.6 rating.
