Buriram United v Jeju United - ACL 2018

Buriram: Goals from Lee Chang-min and Magno Cruz gave Jeju United a 2-0 win over Buriram United on Matchday Two of the 2018 AFC Champions League on Wednesday.

The visitors opened the scoring in just the second minute at Buriram Stadium, with Lee Chang-min’s left-footed effort from outside the box sliding in past the outstretched hand of Sivarak Tedsungnoen.

Buriram United’s Brazilian star Diogo had an effort from long range saved on 16 minutes as the home side started to come into the game, however less than five minutes later Cho Sung-hwan’s side doubled their advantage.

After the home side had their own penalty claim turned down, Jeju United broke quickly and were awarded a spot-kick of their own after Jin Seong-uk was fouled by Jakkaphan Kaewprom, with Magno Cruz making no mistake from the spot.

Buriram United should have pulled a goal back when Jakkraphan was put through one-on-one with the keeper in the first minute of the second half, but the midfielder blasted his shot over the bar.

The Thai League champions continued to pepper the goals throughout the second half, with Edgar Silva and Supachai Jaided coming closest, but try as they might they simply couldn’t find a way through.

The win lifts Jeju United into second in Group G behind Cerezo Osaka, while Buriram United now sit at the foot of the group with one point from their two matches.
