Ahmed Zreik- Al Ahed

Manama: Ahmed Zreik netted a brace as Lebanon's Al Ahed scored a 4-1 win over Syria's Al Jaish on Matchday Four of the AFC Cup on Monday.

After a slow start to the game, Idrissa Kouyate broke the deadlock, powering in a header from Mohamad Haidar's cross to announce the visitors' first goal in the 24th minute.

Al Jaish were wasteful in their efforts to equalise and were punished by a second Al Ahed goal in added time of the first half as Haidar supplied a through pass to Zreik who swept home with his left foot from inside the box to double his side's lead.

The Syrians woes were compounded at the one-hour mark as Zerik made good use of Haytham Faour's pass to send the ball into the top right corner for his second of the night and his side's third.

A late penalty was converted successfully by Mohamed Kalaji for a goal that would prove to be too little too late for Al Jaish, even more so when Samir Ayass struck from a narrow angle to complete Al Ahed's win.

Topping the group with eight points, Al Ahed face Al Zawraa next while Al Jaish play hosts to Manama on Matchday Five in April.
