Malaysia, UAE share spoils

Thursday, October 11, 2018

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia drew 1-1 with the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday as both sides continued their preparations for next week’s AFC U-19 Championship Indonesia 2018.

Despite far from ideal playing conditions at a decidedly damp Shah Alam Stadium, the visiting Emiratis – AFC U-19 Championship winners in 2008 – took the lead on seven minutes through Ahmed Fawzi.

Not to be outdone however, Malaysia, who were recently crowned AFF U-19 champions, ensured a share of spoils when Zafuan Azeman fired home a 79th minute equaliser.
