Paju: Korea Republic's biggest names survived the final cut as head coach Yoon Duk-yeo announced his squad for the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019 on Friday.

Unsurprisingly, UK-based stars Ji So-yun and captain Cho So-hyun both feature in the 23-strong contingent, which also features 10 players from Korean domestic champions Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels.

West Ham United's Cho is Korea Republic's most capped international, while Chelsea's Ji - with 53 international goals - is the country's all-time top scorer.

In addition to Ji, Lee Geum-min and former FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Golden Ball winner Yeo Min-ji will be relied upon for goals, while Lee Min-a and Moon Mira are both regular scorers from midfield.

While both Japan and Australia made headlines by including young players in their squads, Yoon has opted for an experienced outfit, with most of the squad in their mid-to-late twenties, and only midfielder Kang Chae-rim (21) and striker Son Hwa-yeon (22) under the age of 23.

The final squad announcement comes over a month after Yoon named an initial 28-name provisional list, with veteran goalkeeper Kim Jung-mi among the most notable casualties after she suffered an achilles tendon injury earlier this month.

Korea Republic will travel to Sweden next Wednesday, where they will play a friendly match behind closed doors, before meeting the Swedish national team on June 1.

Their FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019 campaign begins in the tournament's opening match against the hosts on June 7, with further matches to come against Nigeria and Norway as they aim to qualify for the knockout stage for the second successive time.
