MD2 - Group D: Yemen 2-2 Saudi Arabia
Manama: Yemen and Saudi Arabia settled for a 2-2 draw in their Asian Qualifiers Group D tie for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 on Tuesday.
Yemen twice led only for Saudi Arabia, who were opening their campaign, to force themselves back into the match at the Bahrain National Stadium.

Yemen, who drew 2-2 against Singapore on Matchday One, had a dream start when Mohsen Mohammed sent his bench into a frenzy with his opener in the eighth minute.
Despite conceding an early goal, Saudi Arabia came back fighting but the Green Falcons found the Yemen defence tough to crack open.
Saudi Arabia continued to press and came close to scoring in the 21st minute but Hattan Bahebri, who found space at the top of the box, fired his effort above the bar.
However, Bahebri made amends a minute later when he pounced on a defensive error to drill home the equaliser from close range.
Both teams had opportunities after that and it was Yemen who made one count in the 37th minute as Omar Al Dahi outmuscled his marker inside the box to slot the ball past Saudi goalkeeper Abdullah Al Mayouf.
Hervé Renard’s men came roaring back in the second half and they equalised eight minutes after the restart through Salem Al Dawsari’s strike from inside the box after he pounced on a rebound.
Al Faraj then almost gave Saudi Arabia the lead in the 70th minute but his header from inside the box was saved by Saeed.
Next up for Saudi Arabia is a home match against Singapore on October 10, while Yemen will travel to Tashkent to face Uzbekistan.
