Colombo: AFC Referee Instructors are satisfied with the readiness of the officials who will be in action during the AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship 2013 for the South and Central region which kicks off in the Sri Lankan capital on Tuesday.
Eleven women’s referees – two referees from Bangladesh, two from India, three Iranians and four from the host country – attended a five-day preparatory course instructed by Iranian Masoud Enayat (pictured) and Niu Huijun of China.
“We were preparing the participants for officiating in the competition which will start on Tuesday,” Enayat told The-AFC.com.
“The 5-day course included theoretical and practical sessions and also a fitness test held according to the FIFA requirements for national women.
“We were satisfied with both technical and organisational aspects of the course. The participants in both sessions showed their enthusiasm for learning and improvement,” he concluded.
Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran and Tajikistan are the participating countries in the inaugural championship for U-14 girls.
