Phnom Penh: AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa and a host of high-profile dignitaries from the Asian football family and the Cambodian government attended a gala dinner in the Cambodian capital on Monday, a day before the grand opening of the National Training Centre.

Shaikh Salman presented AFC pennants to Cambodia’s Minister for Tourism, HE Dr. Thong Khon (below), Minister for Education, Youth and Sports, HE Im Sethy (right) and  Governor of Phnom Penh, HE Pa Socheatevong (top) to mark the occasion.

The inauguration of the National Training Centre in Bati, Takeo Province, will give a boost to the developmental efforts undertaken by the FFC.

The National Training Centre is built under FIFA’s Goal Project two, three and four while the FFC headquarters and a training centre were built in the capital Phnom Penh under FIFA’s first Goal Project.

Cambodia is also a beneficiary of FIFA’s Goal Football Project and FIFA Performance Programme.
