Doha: India gained their first win in their AFC U-19 Championship 2014 Group A qualifying campaign as they downed Nepal 1-0 at Al Arabi Stadium on Sunday.
The Indians handed over Nepal’s second straight loss in the qualifiers in the dying minutes of the game after both teams finished the first half goalless.
Faiaz SK scored the goal three minutes before full time after coming off the bench on 59 minutes for Colm Toal’s side, who had opened their campaign bowing down to hosts Qatar 2-0 on Friday.
India will resume their campaign against Uzbekistan on Thursday.
Raju Kaji Shakya-led Nepal, who lost to Turkmenistan 2-1 in their curtain raiser, take on Uzbekistan on Tuesday.
