KUALA LUMPUR – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has disqualified Iraq from the AFC U-16 Championship 2008 after the Disciplinary Committee found them guilty of fielding an ineligible player during the qualifying competition.

Iraq had qualified to next year’s AFC U-16 Championship, which is scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan in October, as Group C winners ahead of fellow qualifiers India, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Sri Lanka and Bhutan.
