KUALA LUMPUR – Qatar’s appeal to have striker Sebastian Soria’s suspension lifted for their 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Australia has been rejected.

The Uruguay-born forward picked up a yellow card in both legs of Qatar’s first round qualifier against Sri Lanka ruling him out of Wednesday’s match in Melbourne.

Single cautions in the earlier rounds of qualification for the 2010 FIFA World Cup will not count against players for matches in the third stage.
