| Korea clash shifted to Shanghai |
 |

ZURICH – FIFA have announced that the 2010 World Cup qualifier between DPR Korea and Korea Republic has been moved from Pyongyang to Shanghai and will still take place on March 26 as scheduled.
The decision to shift venue comes in light of DPR Korea’s refusal to fly the South Korean flag and play their national anthem on their territory and the South’s decision not to accept a compromise of both having the joint flag used in the Olympics and a Korean folk song instead of the anthem.
North Korea’s original stance and their proposed compromise both contravened tournament regulations which stipulate: “that the FIFA flag, the FIFA Fair Play flag, the confederation's flag and the national flags of both participating member associations shall be flown inside the stadium at every match during the preliminary competition. In addition, the FIFA anthem shall be played when the teams enter the field and the national anthems of the two participating member associations shall be played after the teams have lined up.”
