| Shanghai, KL confirmed as Award venues |
KUALA LUMPUR – The 2008 AFC Player of the Year awards ceremony will take place in Shanghai, while the 2008 Women’s Player of the Year gala will be held in Kuala Lumpur, where the inaugural edition took place in November last year.
The AFC, following the Finance and Marketing Committee meeting on Monday, have announced that men’s ceremony will be held on November 25, while the great and good of the Asian women’s game will be honoured five days earlier.
The AFC were the first FIFA confederation to introduce a separate annual award ceremony for women’s football, with the DPR Korea striker Ri Kum-suk claiming the historic AFC Women’s Player of the Year prize.
