KUALA LUMPUR – Teams or club representatives who do not fulfil their obligations to the media under AFC competition rules will face disciplinary measures, with the AFC set to formerly introduce financial sanctions or suspensions into the regulations.
The proposal was made at the AFC Media Committee meeting on Monday and is expected to be ratified at the AFC Executive Committee meeting at AFC House on Tuesday.
During the recent AFC Champions League and AFC Cup matches a couple of head coaches were not present at the post-match press conferences despite being reminded of their obligations by the Match Commissioner.
These cases, and that of Kedah failing to prevent media accessing restricted areas in their AFC Cup clash with Victory, will be reviewed by the AFC Disciplinary Committee.
