TAIPEI: Kyrgyz champions Dordoi-Dynamo will be gunning for a hat-trick of AFC President’s Cup titles after securing their place in the 2008 semi-finals with a facile 2-0 win over Cambodian champions Nagacorp on Wednesday.
Goals from Vadim Harchenko (13) and Roman Albakimov (74) saw the Sergey Dvoryankov-led Dordoi post their second successive win in the group stage after their earlier 3-0 victory over hosts Taiwan Power Company to finish atop Group B.
Dordoi had defeated Mahendra Police Club of Nepal to defend their title last year after winning it for the first time in 2006 after conquering Tajikistan’s Vakhsh.
Group C comprising Turkmenistan champions Ashgabat, hosts and Lankan powerhouse Ratnam, Bhutan’s Transport United and Myanmar’s Kanbawza moves into action on April 23.
