KUALA LUMPUR: AFC has added yet another award, this time to honour AFC Match Commissioners, to its roll-call of AFC Annual Awards which salute and honour excellence in the Asian game and has been an annual, keenly-awaited event in the Asian football calendar since 1994.
AFC Match Commissioners perform a key role in successful organisation of matches across the continent and the new award is to recognise and honour their achievements, thus providing a greater incentive to spur them towards performance enhancement.
To be considered for the award, candidates must have:
• Accepted at least five (5) appointments in a year
• Adhered to and ensured full compliance of AFC policies and regulations by teams
• Demonstrated sound judgment and problem solving skills when faced with problems on the ground
• Submitted all reports in time (within 24 hours of the match)
• Reports should be in detail and a true reflection of the actual events
This year’s AFC Women’s Awards will be held in Kuala Lumpur on November 20 while the men’s will be held in Shanghai on November 25.
