| Al Ittihad beat Tishreen |

| Al Ittihad fans saw their team win the thriller. |
ALEPPO: AFC Champions League Group A strugglers Al Ittihad defeated Tishreen 3-1 in the 22nd round of the Syrian League here on Sunday.
Abdu Fattah Al Ahga opened the scoring for Tita Valeriu’s charges in the 35th minute only to see Mutaz Kailouni level the scores for Tishreen in the 63rd minute.
Al Ahga put Al Ittihad ahead eight minutes from time and their Cameroon import Otobong Ene Edet gave them their 13th victory of the season with a 85th minute strike.
Al Ittihad are trailing leaders and fellow ACL outfit Al Karama by 11 points in the league standings with four more rounds to go.
Al Ittihad, who lost to Uzbekistan’s Kuruvchi in their last ACL game 1-0, will host Iran’s Sepahan in their penultimate game on May 7. They are languishing at the bottom of the group with three points, six less than leaders Kuruvchi.
