MANAMA – AFC Cup 2008 quarter-finalists Muharraq may have already sealed the 2007/08 Bahrain league title but there was no let up from Salman Sharida’s side as they defeated Al Shabab 1-0.
Despite playing with a host of Bahrain internationals who are on national team duty, Muharraq secured their 16th win in 21 matches thanks to Fahad Shuwaiter’s 16th minute winner.
Muharraq round off their victorious league campaign on Sunday when they take on Al Najma, Bahrain’s other representatives in the group stage of this year’s AFC Cup.
