IMPHAL: A five-day refresher course for referees and match commissioners for the third edition of Manipur State League will be held at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex from July 11 to 15.
The league, which was launched under AFC’s Vision India-Project Manipur, successfully completed two seasons with Thangmeiband’s North Imphal Sporting Association (NISA) winning the crown last season.
Around 50 referees and their assistants and 13 match commissioners will go through the paces under former FIFA and AIFF referees’ instructor Sumanta Ghosh.
Talking to www.the-afc.com, All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) General Secretary Ranjit Roy said the course would help the referees and match commissioners update their knowledge before the start of the new season.
“We have not yet finalised the launch date of the third edition of the Manipur State League but hopefully we can start by July-end,” Roy said.
Twelve teams will play home-and-away in the league for six months.
