NANJING: Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST) defeated second-placed Jintai Tianchuang 5-4 to go six points clear in the Nanjing City League, launched under AFC’s Vision China programme.
Guo Guan Institute defeated Xiangying FC 6-2 to earn third place in the nine-team standings with 13 points after 11th round recently.
Total nine clubs each in first and second divisions are taking part in the league this year. Four clubs in the first division represent universities or colleges while two each are from social clubs and companies. The ninth club represents the police department.
Total 38 referees, including six women, are officiating in the league. Three referees registered with Nanjing Football Association were given national level status by the China Football Association due to their experience in the Nanjing City League.
