HO CHI MINH CITY: Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HCMCFF) President Le Hung Dung has promised full support of his federation to the Vision Vietnam programme.
Dung, who is also the vice-president of the Vietnam Football Federation, said: “A five-year strategy to bring football in Ho Chi Minh City to the next level is needed and the federation is committed to work in partnership with the AFC’s Vision Vietnam programme to achieve this.”
“We know that we have to resolve many issues and introduce many changes. However, I am confident that working in partnership with the systematic and sustained development programmes of AFC Vision Asia, we will overcome the difficulties and achieve rapid progress,” he said.
The AFC delegation will compile its assessment report and draft a strategic plan for football development in the city.
The plan will be reviewed by the HCMCFF and the stakeholders for football in Ho Chi Minh City and subsequently discussed, finalised and agreed at a planning workshop between AFC and HCMCFF in AFC House, Kuala Lumpur, in late September 2008.
Implementation of the programmes in the plan will commence immediately after the planning workshop.
