| Ze Mario has returned to Qatar to coach former employers Al Arabi. |
DOHA – Brazilian coach Ze Mario has returned to former club Al Arabi, the side he managed to the Qatar league and Emir’s Cup double in the 1992/93 season.
The 59-year-old was previously at the helm of AFC Champions League 2008 qualifiers Al Wasl, who he also led to a domestic double before overseeing a disappointing continental campaign that saw the UAE outfit win just two of their six group stage matches to finish third behind Iraq’s Al Quwa Al Jawiya and quarter-final qualifiers Saipa.
Ze Mario is no stranger to Qatar having also coached Al Sadd and then the national team in the late 1990’s prior to two seasons in Japan with Kashima Antlers.
