PNOM PENH – The executive committee of the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) have voted unanimously to terminate the contract of national team coach Yoo Kee-heung.
Quoting local media, goal.com reported that the FFC ex-co voted six to one in favour of dispensing with the services of the former Korea Republic international citing the fact that he does not possess the required coaching credentials.
“Without the (AFC “A’) license, he can't coach Cambodia for the ASEAN Football Federation qualifiers, which are to be held here in October,” said FFC Secretary General Ouk Sethycheat.
Under Yoo, who was appointed Cambodia national team coach in December 2007, the ASEAN side failed to qualify for the 2008 AFC Challenge Cup finals after going down 1-0 at home to Nepal.
According to reports Prak Sovanara will fill the void created with the departure of the former Nepal and Bhutan coach.
