DOHA – Waleed Jassem has ended his four-year association with Al Rayyan with the 21-year-old midfielder joining Q-League rivals Qatar Sports Club (QSC).
Waleed was once seen as Qatar’s hottest properties with the set-piece specialist helping his country to glory in the 2004 Gulf Cup as well as being named the Q-League’s best Qatari player three years ago but his since experienced inconsistent form that has seen him rarely feature for the senior national team.
Waleed will be hoping that a switch to the six-time Qatari champions can help him resurrect his international career with the 2011 AFC Asian Cup hosts battling to qualify for a place at the next World Cup finals.
