LONG AN, Vietnam: Tan An Town crushed Chau Thanh 7-0 to maintain their lead in the Long An Provincial League (LAPL) after 24 rounds recently.
Defending champions and second-placed Can Duoc went down to third-placed Can Giuoc by a solitary goal. Tan An are on 53 points and have a match in hand, while Can Duoc are five adrift the leaders.
Luu Minh Tuan slammed five goals for Tan An while Huynh Ngoc Long scored a brace. Luu found the net in the third, seventh, 55th, 67th and 90th minutes while Huynh’s goals came in 33rd and 53rd minutes.
In other matches, Vinh Hung lost to Moc Hoa 2-0, Duc Hoa thrashed Duc Hue 6-2, Tan Tru beat Thu Thua 2-1, Ben Luc downed Tan Hung 2-1 and Tan Thanh were held goalless by Thanh Hoa.
