MACAU: English Premier League side Chelsea whipped Chinese Super League outfit Chengdu Blades 7-0 in a friendly here on Saturday whose main purpose was to raise funds for the victims of the Sichuan earthquake.
Chelsea, who are AFC’s partner in development for the Vision China project, were in full flow and dominated the match from start to end against their Chinese rivals who are currently 10th in the 16-team domestic standings.
The goals were scored by Nicolas Anelka, Salomon Kalou, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole (two), Franco Di Santo and Shaun Wright-Phillips.
The English giants had earlier kicked off their Asian tour with a 4-0 rout of Guangzhou Pharma and will be eager to continue their form against a Malaysian select in Kuala Lumpur on July 29.
