CHANCHUNG – Concerns were raised over the fitness of China Olympic skipper Zheng Zhi after the Charlton midfielder withdrawn in the second-half of the goalless draw with their Serbian counterparts on Tuesday.
“Zheng was replaced because he has shown signs of fatigue in training and we also can't risk aggravating his old lower-back injury," China coach Yin Tiesheng told Xinhua News Agency.
Yin, who recently took over as head coach from Serb Ratomir Dujković, was left lamenting his side’s lack of edge in front of goal and vowed to find the solution before China take on Brazil, New Zealand, and Belgium in the group stage of the Olympic football tournament.
“The co-operation in China's attacking line isn't very smooth and the lack of a killer touch has always been our shortcoming,” Yin told Xinhua News Agency
“But we are now physically prepared and in the next few days we will try work on better tactics and strategies."
