| Tajikistan coach Pulod Kodirov has been fined for his failure to attend the post-match press conference. |
KUALA LUMPUR: The AFC Disciplinary Committee has slapped a US$1000 fine on Tajikistan coach Pulod Kodirov for his failure to attend the post-match press conference in the AFC Challenge Cup.
Kodirov did not attend the press conference after their group game against hosts India in the eight-nation event being played in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad on August 1, 2008.
This was the clear violation of Article 38(b) of the AFC Challenge Cup 2008 regulations which states that “Any Member Association Head Coach not cooperating to Art 38(a) and (b) will be subject to disciplinary action including a ban from the dressing room and/or substitutes’ bench as per Art 21 of the AFC Disciplinary Code”.
The committee, after considering Kodirov’s explanation, decided to fine him US$1000 as per the provision under Article 16 of the AFC Disciplinary Code.
The Tajik has no right to appeal the decision as the fine imposed is less than US$5000 under Article 121(c) of the AFC Disciplinary Code.
