KUALA LUMPUR: The AFC Disciplinary Committee on Saturday imposed fines and suspensions on Tajikistan’s Davrondzhon Tukhtasunov, DPR Korea’s Choe Myong-ho and Pak Nam-chol for their violent conducts during the AFC Challenge Cup semi-final on Thursday.
Tukhtasunov has been suspended for two matches and fined US$3000 for striking DPR Korea’s Yun Yong-il head while shaking hands after the final whistle which is in violation of Article 49(1) of the AFC Disciplinary Code.
The striker will not be eligible to play in the final against India and any subsequent official match of the Tajikistan national team.
Striker Choe Myong-ho has been suspended for six matches and fined US$3000 for spitting on the face of Davrondzhon Tukhtasunov during the stoppage time of their semi-final against Tajikistan which was in violation of Article 49(2) of the AFC Disciplinary Code.
Choe will not be eligible to play against Myanmar in the third-place playoff and will serve the suspension in the next five official matches of the DPR Korea national team.
DPR Korea defender Pak Nam-chol has been suspended for one match following violent conduct during the semi-final against Tajikistan. He will also be ineligible to play in the third-place playoff against Myanmar.
The committee also imposed a fine of US$2000 on Nepal national team for collecting four yellow cards during their AFC Challenge Cup group game against DPR Korea.
Nepal’s Nirajan Khadka, Rakesh Shrestha, Jumanu Rai and Yugal Raj were cautioned during the match which violates Article 54(1) of the AFC Disciplinary Code.
The Article 54(1) stipulates a maximum fine of US$10,000 when four or more players from a team are cautioned during one match.
Tukhtasunov, Pak and the Nepal team will have no right to appeal against the decisions while Choe has the right to appeal against the decision within 15 days to the AFC Appeals Committee.
