DOHA: A hat-trick from Bader Al Mutawa enabled AFC Champions League quarter-finalists Kuwait’s Al Qadsia thrash Qatar’s Al Khor 5-0 in the Gulf Club Championship on Monday.
The victory helped the Kuwaiti side go three points clear atop the Group A standings while Bahrain’s Al Muharraq downed Oman’s Al Nahda to go second with three points with a match in hand.
Al Mutawa opened Al Qadsia’s account in the eighth minute and made it 2-0 four minutes later. Selim Ben Achour scored their third in the 26th minute. Al Mutawa completed his hat-trick in the 64th minute while Salih Al Sheikh sealed their victory 11 minutes later.
Goals from Reco (44) and Abdulla Al Dekeel (74) helped Al Muharraq beat Al Nahda in another Group A match.
