| Cahill comeback boost for Verbeek |

| Tim Cahill |
STOKE – Australia coach Pim Verbeek was given a massive boost ahead of October’s World Cup qualifier against Qatar with the return to action of influential midfielder Tim Cahill after six-months out injured.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who has been sidelined since March, made a blistering comeback to top flight football when he headed home the winner in Everton’s 3-2 defeat of Stoke City on Sunday.
Cahill has not featured in Australia’s 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign since breaking the deadlock in the Socceroos’ 3-0 victory over Qatar in the opening Group 1 match in the third round of qualifiers back in early February.
Ironically, Cahill’s return to international duty could be against Qatar on October 15, when Australia entertains the 2011 AFC Cup hosts in Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.
Australia made an impressive start to the fourth and final round of World Cup qualifiers by defeating Uzbekistan 1-0 in Tashkent while Qatar currently top the standings with four points following a 3-0 home win over the Uzbeks and a 1-1 draw with Bahrain.
