NIZWA – Al Nahda coach Milosav Radenovic believes that his team are capable of overturning a 2-1 deficit when they face Singapore Armed Forces in the second leg of their AFC Cup tie at Nizwa Stadium.
The Singapore double winners hold the advantage thanks to a pair of goals by skipper Aleksandar Duric at the Jalan Besar Stadium last week although the Omanis were able to grab a lifeline with a late penalty by Datoma Yedibahoma giving them a crucial away goal.
The former Syria national team boss expects a battle in the return match but is pleased with his team’s excellent preparations so far.
"Tuesday’s match will not be easy as we have lost the first leg and we must win if we want to qualify to the semi-finals," said the Serb.
"We have prepared well and we will try our best to fix the mistakes that we made last week.
"We must win and we will be aiming to get at them right from the beginning.
"I feel that we can achieve a good result especially after our performance in the first leg last week when we didn't know much about our opponents and the artificial pitch was not ideal for us."
Radenovic will welcome back defender Arif Al Shaiba and striker Salim Al Shamsi from suspension but defender Yousuf Al Naimi remains absent because of work commitments.
Meanwhile, Warriors coach Richard Bok has been forced into changes with defender Mohamed Hafiz bin Osman and goalkeeper Shahril bin Jantan suspended after the pair were sent off in the first leg.
"We have good replacements for our suspended players," said Bok.
"Toh Guo'An will be our option in goal while I will choose between Razaleigh Khalik and Faizal Aziz to play in place of Hafiz at right back."
The S-League side arrived in Oman on Sunday and Bok is in confident mood ahead of the match.
"I think we have a good chance to make it through although it will be tough game for us," said Bok.
"Of course we would have preferred a two-goal lead but any lead you can bring into a match is good. We still have a good advantage and a draw will do for us, although at the same time Al Nahda will not give up.
"We had a training session after our arrival and to be honest the weather was better than I thought. At the beginning of the session it was a little bit difficult but we adapted well."
