KATHMANDU: Kyrgyzstan champions Dordoi-Dynamo booked their place in the final of the AFC President's Cup after edging out Nepal's Three Star Club 4-3 on penalties Wednesday.
Dordoi-Dynamo will now play Tajik heavyweights Regar TadAZ in the final on Saturday. Regulation time and extra time ended goalless in the thrilling encounter which was watched by over 22,000 spectators at the Dashrath stadium.
The best chance in normal play went to Three Star, with Pradeep Maharjan going close twice in the dying minutes. Extra-time saw Dordoi's Azamat Ishinbaev unleashing two fierce drives from distance which forced Three Star goalkeeper Upendra Man Singh into miraculous saves. In the penalty shootout, Zakir Djalilov, Vladimir Chertkov, Vasily Kononov and Zamirbek Jumagulov found the net for the winners. For Three Star, only Santosh Shreshta, Pralaya Rajbhandari and Pradeep Maharjan were on target.
