KUALA LUMPUR: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s Disciplinary Committee has handed out six-month bans to two former players of Kyrgyzstan club Dordoi-Dynamo for doping offences. Halfbacks Nurzat Kadyrkulov and Askar Ahmetov failed a doping control test during the 2005 AFC President’s Cup match in Kathmandu, Nepal, between Dordoi-Dynamo and Cambodian club Hello United in the month of May. The AFC provisionally banned Kadyrkulov and Ahmetov from June 1 after their B samples also tested positive for banned substance delta-9 carboxy THC and the Disciplinary Committee recently decided to impose a six-month suspension from all football activities on both players. The decision is to be submitted to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee with a request to extend the scope of the ban worldwide. Kadyrkulov and Ahmetov have been already sacked by Dordoi-Dynamo.
