RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army regained the Pakistan Premier League title after 10 years with a 3-1 win over WAPDA recently.
International winger Imran Hussain fired two of the three goals for Pakistan Army in the grand finale which WAPDA needed to win with a six-goal margin to continue their winning spree since 2003 intact. WAPDA fell behind midway through the first half after Imran’s drive from outside the area left custodian Asadallah Tariq rooted and Jaffar Hussain made it 2-0 after nudging the ball into the right corner. Three minutes into the restart Imran struck again to put the match beyond WAPDA. Substitute Khuda Baksh grabbed a consolation goal for the losers in the 78th minute.
