ALEPPO - Al Ittihad made it nine wins out of nine in their domestic campaign as the 2007 AFC Champions League qualifiers edged Jablah 1-0 to go six clear of Al Talia who edged struggling Al Wathba by an identical score line.
Al Ittihad, who have been drawn with inaugural ACL winners Al Ain, Saudi Arabia's Al Shabab and Foolad of Iran in next year's continental clash, scored the only goal of the game against Jablah in the tenth minute when Anas Sari netted his third of the season.
Meanwhile 2006 AFC Champions League runners-up Al Karama returned to winning ways after two successive draws as the Syria title-holders enjoyed a 3-0 win over Al Horiya.
Jihad Hussein put Mohammed Kwid's side ahead in the 35th minute before Aatef Jeniat doubled the Homs side's advantage on the hour mark. Iyad Mandou, who scored in Al Karama's 1-1 draw with Al Talia in their last fixture, sealed the win six minutes later.
In the remaining matches, 2004 AFC Cup champions Al Jaish edged ten-man Al Futowa 2-1, Al Qradah tied Al Wahda 2-2, while there were goalless home draws for Teshrine and Al Shorta who were held by Hottine and Al Majd respectively.
