DOHA - Reigning Qatar champions Al Sadd extended went 14 points clear at the top of the 2006/07 Q-League as a hat-trick from top-scorer Emerson saw them to a round 14 victory over Al Wakra.
The former Urawa Reds striker opened the scoring in the 16th minute before doubling Al Sadd's advantage with a penalty two minutes before the interval.
Emerson completed his hat-trick, and Al Sadd's 12th win in 14 games, in second half stoppage time with his league-leading 13th of the season.
Meanwhile, former Al Sadd player Boushaib Lembarki opened the scoring for Al Rayyan, Qatar's other representatives in the 2007 AFC Champions League, 13 minutes into the Emir's Cup winners' clash with Al Shamal.
