RIYADH - AFC Champions League qualifiers Al Hilal endured their second successive domestic draw as the Riyadh giants followed their 0-0 away tie with Al Khaleej with another goalless stalemate against Al Wahda in their 13th match of the campaign.
Despite the draw Al Hilal, who have been grouped with Kuwait champions Al Kuwait, Iran League winners Esteghlal and Uzbekistan giants Pakhtakor in next year's continental clash, continue to set the pace in the Saudi league sitting six points clear of two-time AFC Champions League winners Al Ittihad.
The Jeddah giants, who have played a game less than Al Hilal, leapfrogged Al Wahda into second on goal difference thanks to their 3-0 win over Al Nasr, who had Togo international Massamesso Tchangai sent off.
Former AFC Player of the Year Hamad Al Montashari opened the scoring before Guinean striker Alhassane Keita found the net on the half hour mark and again four minutes after the interval to seal the win.
The Kingdom's other representatives in the forthcoming AFC Champions League Al Shabab also scored three times in their 13th match of the season as goals from Iraq international Nashat Akram, Ghanaian forward Godwin Attram and Abdulaziz Al Saran helped the reigning Saudi champions cruise to a 3-1 victory over Al Khaleej.
In other matches Al Ahli, quarter-finalists in the 2005 ACL, climbed up to fifth in the table thanks to their 3-2 win over Al Hazm in a match that saw both side finish with ten men, while Al Tai and Al Faysaly shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw.
