ABU DHABI: Al Wahda stayed neck-and-neck with Al Wasl in the UAE League after the 15th round of action recently.
Al Wahda frittered a golden chance to overcome nine-man Al Shabab and were held to a 1-1 away draw after Saroor Salem fired a 48th minute equaliser for the hosts to neutralize Mamdou Bagayaoko’s 26th minute opener for Al Wahda. Al Shabab saw Iman Mobali and Prince Tagoe redcarded but held on for the draw.
Al Wasl suffered a shock 5-2 defeat to Al Shaab and stayed on 30 points at the top of the 12-team ladder, followed by Al Wahda on the same number of points but in second position due to an inferior goals record.

In other matches, Al Ain drew with Dubai 1-1, Al Ahil demolished Al Nasr 4-1 and Al Fujairah shared the points with Emirates following a 1-1 stalemate.
