DUBAI: Al Wasl won the UAE President’s Cup for the first time since 1986-87 after thrashing Al Ain 4-1 in the final on Tuesday. Brazilians Oliviera (12, 60), Anderson (44), Tariq Hassan (51) were on target for rampant Al Wasl, who are currently joint leaders of the league, even as Frank Ongfieng’s equaliser for Al Ain in the 26th minute proved to be of little help in deciding the final outcome. Earlier in the semifinals, Al Wasl defeated Al Ahli 2-1 and Al Ain edged Al Fujairah 1-0.
