RIYADH - AFC Asian Cup runners-up Saudi Arabia were impressive in a 5-0 victory against Ghana in an international friendly at King Fahd International Stadium on Tuesday.
Two goals from Yasser Al Qahtani and two penalties contributed to an easy win for the Saudis over Claude Le Roy's men, who finished the game with 10 men after Anthony Annan was dismissed late on.
The home side took the lead after just five minutes as Al Qahtani found the back of the net with a powerful strike from 30 yards.
It was 2-0 in the 25th minute when Al Qahtani turned from scorer to provider as his chip found Saud Khariri on the edge of the area and he slotted past Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson.
Al Qahtani scored his second goal six minutes after the break as he got on the end of a Mohammed Al Shalhoub pass to power a volley into the far corner.
Five minutes later the hosts were awarded a penalty when FC Utrecht defender Francis Dickoh fouled Saad Al Harthi inside the area and the Al Nasr striker successfully converted.
In the 84th minute Anthony Annan was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence before Ghana conceded another spot kick in stoppage time, which Redha Tukar successfully converted to complete the rout.
