MILAN: Inter Milan star Luis Figo confirmed that he would be playing for Saudi giants Al Ittihad after the end of the Serie A season.
"I won't change my decision to leave at the end of the season," Figo told Sky Italia. "I will definitely miss top-level football and all that surrounds it, but I have been playing for many years and always for great teams. "At my age you need to think about when it's time to leave, although it's a big sacrifice for me. In any case, the only goal for me now is to win the Scudetto on the pitch after the one we were assigned last season." Al Ittihad chairman Mansour Al Balawi had announced earlier this year that Figo had inked a one-year deal with the former two-time Asian club champions. "We have signed a deal for one year from July 1, 2007," said Al Balawi, adding that this was "one of the biggest deals ever in the Middle East." "Luis Figo has lots of experience and he will be a great asset for the club," Al Balawi said after the former Portugual international was photographed with an Al Ittihad jersey with his name on it.
