HO CHI MINH CITY: Malaysia defeated Singapore 3-0 while defending champions Myanmar outclassed Laos 4-0 in the Group A encounters of the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Under-20 Championship at the Thanh Long Sports Complex here Wednesday.

Yusnee Said opened Malaysia’s account in the 29th minute before Singaporean Nurhazwan Shaik was sent off for a second offence. Ahmad Fakri Saarani doubled the advantage and Firdaus Azizul fired the last goal.

In the other Group A game, Myanmar striker Kyaw Kyaw Khine scored the first goal, followed by strikes from skipper Ang Mung Kyaw Mo, Myint Naing and Zin Myo Aung.
