BEIJING: Changchun Yatai destroyed Shenzen Kingsway 4-0 Tuesday to return to the top of the Chinese Super League which resumed after a six-week break for the AFC Asian Cup™. Wang Dong, Du Zhenyu (two goals) and Wang Rui were on target in the only game on Tuesday. Changchun’s surge to the top was helped by champions Shandong Luneng’s shock 6-1 rout at home by Beijing Guo’an on Wednesday. Beijing Guo’an were off the blocks in the 21st minute through Miodrag Pantelic but Zhou Haibin restored parity for Shandong five minutes later. Four minutes from the break Tao Wei re-established Beijing’s lead and there was still time for Tiago Jorge Honorio to add a third from the spot. After the break, Beijing found the target through Yan Xiangchuang who scored a brace and there was still time for Tiago to hit another goal. Shaanxi Baorong beat Wuhan Huanghelou 2-0 to climb off the bottom, thanks to goals from Brazilian striker Ronny and midfielder Li Yan . Elsewhere, the games between Tianjin Teda and Henan Jianye, Changsa Ginde and Xiamen Lanshi and Liaonong Zhongyu and Zhejiang Lucheng, all finished goalless. STANDINGS: 1. Changchun 29, 2.
